Summary: This course is designed to provide organisations listed to ISO 9001/2:1994 with an understanding of the changes and why, and a direction to complete the transition to ISO 9001:2000 and to provide auditors trained to the 1994 requirements with the necessary information to complete their transition to the 2000 requirements.
Who should attend: This course is for Top Management, Quality Managers, those members of the organisation who will be taking part in the transition to the revised standard and auditors wishing to upgrade. The course can also be adapted to suit those only needing an awareness of the changes.
Prior Learning: Auditing to ISO 9001:2000
Content: The management of quality and the reasons for change, the new family of standards and guidelines and the changes from the old, the 8 quality management principles, ISO 9001:2000 requirements, the process approach, the scope of the QMS and the application of the new standard, the setting of quality objectives, continual improvement, incorporating the new standard into an existing ISO 9001: 1994 quality management system.
Outcomes: The delegate will gain an understanding of the role of a 2000 revised quality management system in relation to an organisations effectiveness in customer satisfaction and continual improvement, the 8 quality management principles, the intent, purpose and relationship between the ISO 9000 family of standards, the differences between the requirements of ISO 9001:1994 and 2000 versions and the objective evidence required to show conformity, the changes required in planning and conducting audits in relation to the process approach, the application of the new standard and permissible exclusions, the differences in documentation requirements and the steps required to achieve re-certification.
