Summary: This course provides a practical and comprehensive overview of ISO 9000 and the implementation of quality management system. It addresses the many myths surrounding the subject and shows how ISO 9000 can be applied by both small and larger organisations.

Who should attend: All who are to be involved in either implementing or managing all or part of an ISO 9000 quality system. It is useful to managers, supervisors, administrators and other employees.

Content: Quality management in business, the process approach and continual improvement, the 8 quality management principles, ISO 9001:2000 requirements, the role of top management, quality system management, quality system maintenance, quality manuals and procedures and records, implementation strategy, ISO 9000 in manufacturing, ISO 9000 in service businesses, the route to certification. The course makes use of practical exercises and case studies to emphasise the course content.

Outcomes: The delegate will gain an understanding of the link from Quality to quality management systems, the development of quality management systems, the purpose and intent of the ISO 9000 family of standards, the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and the relationship between the clauses of the standard, the benefits of implementation and the steps required to achieve certification.
